Detection of High-Performance Wheat Genotypes and Genetic Stability to Determine Complex Interplay between Genotypes and Environments

Abiotic stress decreases crop production worldwide. In order to recommend suitable genotypes for cultivation under water deficit and heat conditions, an overall understanding of the genetic basis plant responses these stresses their interactions with environment is required. To achieve goals, multitrait genotype-ideotype distance index (MGIDI) was utilized recognize abiotic-stress-tolerant wheat genotypes, weighted average absolute scores (WAASB) as well superiority index, which enables weighting between mean performance stability (WAASBY), were high-yielding stable genotypes. Twenty examined determine abiotic tolerance capacity investigated nine test environments (three seasons × three treatments). significantly decreased most morpho-physiological all agronomic traits; however, some expressed a slight reduction in measured traits compared control group. G04, G12, G13, G17 identified convenient using MGIDI environments. Based on genotype (WAASB), G01, G05, selected superior considerable terms grain yield (GY). G06, G18 classified cluster (I), productive WAASBY index. The combined indices (MGIDI WAASB) WAASBY) revealed G12 G04 respectively, candidates.
